The PerinTIS Scholarship Program Demonstrates TIS Energy’s Tangible ESG Commitment
News 07 August 2025
Grobogan, 7 August 2025 – As part of its sustainability commitment under the Community Development and Empowerment Program (PPM) in areas surrounding its operations, TIS Energy officially launched the PerinTIS Scholarship Program (Pelajar Berprestasi Binaan TIS). The program targets senior high school and vocational school students (SMA/SMK) from communities around Gubug District, Grobogan Regency.
The PerinTIS Scholarship Program is designed to increase school participation rates and expand access to education for young generations in TIS Energy’s operational areas. This initiative aligns with the company’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, through targets 4.1.2 (completion rates at primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary education levels) and 4.5.1 (net and gross enrollment ratios at secondary and tertiary education levels), with a focus on vulnerable groups such as women, indigenous children, and persons with disabilities.
The program also represents the implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, specifically within the Social aspect, contributing to the Community Relations pillar through the development of highly capable and competitive human resources.
“The PerinTIS Scholarship Program is not only a form of concern for education, but also a bridge to a brighter future for children living around our operational areas. Education is a long-term investment for social sustainability,” said the General Manager of TIS Energy (Blora PSC).
The program was developed through a multi-stage and objective selection process, including administrative screening, written examinations, and direct interviews. From dozens of students representing various senior high and vocational schools within the operational area, 10 scholarship recipients were selected from schools such as SMA Yasiha Gubug and SMK Yasiha Gubug.
“This is only the initial phase. Going forward, we are committed to expanding the scholarship coverage to the higher education level. Our hope is to be part of the process of nurturing young talents with specialized skills, particularly in the upstream oil and gas sector, as a step toward building strong, competitive local human resources,” he added.
Through the PerinTIS Scholarship Program, TIS Energy continues to demonstrate that its ESG commitment and alignment with the SDGs are not merely conceptual, but are implemented through programs that deliver tangible and direct benefits to the community.
