TIS Energy Prioritizes Safe, Responsible, and Sustainable Operations
News 30 June 2026
As one of the Production Sharing Contract (PSC) contractors operating in the Blora Working Area, TIS Energy conducts upstream oil and gas activities as part of its commitment to supporting Indonesia's national energy supply. The company currently manages the RBG Block I Field in Grobogan Regency, with production facilities that include the RBG 3B Well.
Following the successful completion of the commissioning phase of the RBG 3B Well, TIS Energy has entered the operational and production performance monitoring stage. This phase is carried out to ensure that all systems, equipment, and supporting facilities operate in accordance with their design specifications, comply with safety standards, and maintain reliable gas production on a sustainable basis. Following commissioning, gas production from the facility has reached 10.8 MMSCFD, contributing to the energy needs of the industrial sector. Operational performance evaluations will continue to serve as the basis for production optimization to maintain operational reliability and strengthen the company's contribution to national energy security.
Like any industrial operation, upstream oil and gas activities involve various aspects that must be managed carefully, ranging from occupational safety and environmental protection to maintaining positive relationships with surrounding communities. Therefore, all TIS Energy operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations and under the supervision of SKK Migas and relevant government authorities.
In terms of occupational safety, TIS Energy continues to foster a strong safety culture through various training programs, awareness campaigns, inspections, and operational supervision. According to the company's Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) records, throughout the production activities at the RBG Block I Central Processing Plant (CPP), the company has consistently implemented Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection (OHSE) training and awareness programs. These initiatives are designed to enhance employees' competence and awareness of OHSE practices, strengthen the workplace safety culture, and improve emergency preparedness across operational areas.
In addition to safety, the company also conducts periodic environmental monitoring in accordance with government-approved environmental management documents. The monitoring covers various environmental parameters, including ambient air quality, noise levels, water quality, and other parameters required under applicable environmental regulations.
Environmental monitoring has been carried out regularly since the pre-construction phase through the operational phase, from 2021 to the present, with monitoring conducted every six months in accordance with regulatory requirements. During the operational phase, monitoring is performed at four designated monitoring points surrounding the operational area to measure the required environmental parameters. The results provide the basis for continuous evaluation and improvement of the company's environmental management and operational practices.
As part of its commitment to transparency and constructive engagement with surrounding communities, TIS Energy also provides a community grievance mechanism through which members of the public may submit feedback, inquiries, or concerns regarding the company's operations. All information and communications received are managed and followed up through established internal procedures in accordance with the company's applicable protocols.
Beyond operating safely and in full regulatory compliance, TIS Energy also implements Community Development and Empowerment (CD&E) programs across various sectors. These initiatives prioritize the needs of communities surrounding the company's operational areas, focusing on agriculture, healthcare, education, environmental conservation, and local economic development.
The General Manager of TIS Energy stated that the company remains committed to maintaining a balance between supporting national energy needs, protecting the environment, and fostering harmonious relationships with surrounding communities.
"As part of the upstream oil and gas industry, we recognize the importance of conducting operations that are safe, responsible, and sustainable. Therefore, every activity we undertake prioritizes safety, regulatory compliance, environmental protection, and open communication with communities and all stakeholders," he said.
Through this approach, TIS Energy aims to continue contributing to Indonesia's national energy security while building trust and maintaining harmonious relationships with communities and all stakeholders across its operational areas.
