TIS Energy Strengthens Relationship with Local Media Through Joint Program with SKK Migas-KKKS Jabanusa

News 08 October 2025

TIS Energy, through its Blora Working Area, participated in a series of events to strengthen journalist competencies through the Joint Program with SKK Migas – KKKS Jabanusa, which included the Journalist Competency Test (UKW) held from September 29 to October 1, 2025, in Surabaya, and the Media Workshop held at Hotel Gumaya Tower, Semarang, on October 7-8, 2025.

The UKW activity became an important moment for the press in East Java and Central Java to strengthen the role of journalism that is balanced, credible, and adheres to professional ethics. The UKW, organized in collaboration with the Dr. Soetomo Press Institute (LPDS), was attended by 62 journalists, consisting of 50 participants from East Java and 12 participants from Central Java, representing various print, online, and television media.

As part of its support for enhancing the competence of local journalists, TIS Energy also included seven journalists from Grobogan and Demak Regencies, all of whom passed the competency test at the Junior and Intermediate levels.

In addition to the UKW, the event was complemented by a Media Workshop featuring several qualified speakers in their fields. Anggono Mahendrawan, Head of the SKK Migas Jabanusa Representative, discussed the strategic role of SKK Migas and KKKS in achieving national production targets; Muhammad Jazuli from the Press Council talked about the guidelines for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the media and journalistic ethics; Riza Permadi, a media and communication expert, reviewed the developments in business models and the media landscape in the digital era; and Kristanto Hartadi, Executive Director of LPDS, expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm of the UKW participants and emphasized the importance of continuous capacity building for journalists.

With the theme “Optimizing the Role of the Media in Supporting National Upstream Oil and Gas Production Targets,” the event was attended by 74 Editors-in-Chief and media representatives, consisting of 11 participants from Central Java and 63 participants from East Java. The event aimed to strengthen the synergy between upstream oil and gas industry players and the press in building transparent, credible, and constructive public communication.

“The success of the upstream oil and gas industry cannot be achieved alone. It requires synergy between the government, industry players, and the media as an information bridge to help the public understand the challenges and the vast potential of the oil and gas sector for the region,” said Anggono, Head of SKK Migas Jabanusa Representative.

As a KKKS operating in the Blora working area, TIS Energy continues to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening the capacity and professionalism of journalists. Through various educational activities, certifications, and dialogue forums with Editors-in-Chief of local media, TIS Energy consistently builds more intensive and constructive engagement with the media, as part of its efforts to strengthen open and balanced public communication in its operational areas.

“Collaboration with the media is not just about publicity; it is about building a mutual understanding of the social responsibility and sustainability of the upstream oil and gas industry,” said Colin Soh, Deputy Managing Director of TIS Energy, on another occasion.

Through its support for this event, TIS Energy hopes to further strengthen its partnership with local media as part of the company’s commitment to building healthy and sustainable public communication in the upstream oil and gas sector. (FAP/PR)
